In 2026 and 2027, Utrecht’s largest running event will continue to bear the name HiPRO Utrecht Marathon. Following the successful partnership during the 2025 edition, which attracted more than 18,500 runners, the main sponsorship will be extended for two years. The 42nd edition of the HiPRO Utrecht Marathon, including the Dutch Half Marathon Championships, will take place on Sunday 31 May 2026.
HiPRO is a dairy brand of Danone and is known for its protein drinks, pouches , and protein bars. HiPRO’s mission is to support athletes every step of the way. HiPRO focuses on rapid recovery, which is an important aspect of training for a half or full marathon.
This extension underscores HiPRO’s confidence in the event’s strength and its long-term partnership with the Utrecht Marathon. The Utrecht Marathon’s ambition is to welcome more runners to the starting line each year and inspire athletes to achieve their athletic goals. This ambition aligns seamlessly with HiPRO’s mission: supporting athletes every step of the way.
In 2026, the Dutch Half Marathon Championship will also be a part of the HiPRO Utrecht Marathon. This will attract not only recreational runners but also the national elite to Utrecht, contributing to the event’s continued growth and reputation.
Sebastiaan Westerhout, Business Development Manager of Golazo Events: “With HiPRO as a permanent partner of the HiPRO Utrecht Marathon we can support even more runners in achieving their sporting goals in the coming years. The importance of good recovery is central to our shared vision; together we are committed to a fitter and healthier Utrecht, where the joy of sport and ambition are paramount.”
Annemieke Roelvink, HiPRO brand manager, says about the partnership: “After a fantastic first edition in 2025, in which thousands of runners achieved their personal goals, we look forward to expanding this partnership over the next two years! HiPRO supports athletes every step of the way—big or small—with nutrition that contributes to their performance. Based on this mission, we are proud to be able to support both national elite and recreational runners in their athletic ambitions next year.”
The 42nd edition of the HiPRO Utrecht Marathon will take place on Sunday 31 May 2026. Traditionally, the start and finish are at Utrecht Science Park. The different courses offer a variation of the green surroundings and the highlights of the Dom City. The programme includes the Utrecht Science Park Mini Marathon, 10 km, HiPRO Half Marathon and the Utrecht Science Park Marathon.
