This year, Utrecht Marathon supports KWF Dutch Cancer Society. The organization calls on every participant to contribute to a better life for people affected by cancer. Free starting ticket
If you register via KWF and raise at least 500 euros in sponsorship money before April 18, 2025, KWF will buy your starting ticket and you will receive the unique Run against cancer shirt. With your own Run against Cancer fundraiser, fundraising is easier than you think!
Only a fundraiser
Would you like to make a difference for KWF, but do not want to raise at least 500 euros in sponsorship money? Then arrange your starting ticket yourself via the Utrecht Marathon and create a fundraiser. Do you raise 500 euro or more? Then you will receive the unique Run Against Cancer shirt. Of course, KWF supports you in collecting donations, with tips, tricks and great examples of activists who came before you.
Run and raise money with your colleagues
You can make a huge impact while running as a company. Run against cancer during the Utrecht Marathon and raise money for groundbreaking cancer research. Start a team page and invite your colleagues. Use your (business) network to raise funds for your campaign. All proceeds can be found per team member on your team page. There are two ways to participate with your company.
Research
1 in 2 Dutch people will get cancer at some point. Golazo, the organizer of the Utrecht Marathon, is convinced that cancer can be prevented for many more people. More than a third of all cancer cases can be attributed to lifestyle and environmental factors, such as unhealthy eating and too little exercise. Golazo sees enormous opportunities here and is happy to take on the challenge. For that reason, Golazo links their sporting events to KWF. Together we raise money for scientific research. Research focused on prevention, diagnostics and treatment to quality of life. But not only scientific research is funded. Part of the proceeds are also used locally, such as supporting the IPSO Centers for living with and after cancer and palliative care.
